Position Summary:
Assists the Head Coach to help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, and appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Supervision:
Supervises students of athletic program.

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Be able to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Procurement
Must ensure that the Taos Municipal Schools Procurement Process is followed entirely and effectively.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Valid coaching license from the New Mexico Public Education Department. Experience in physical education, coaching, first-aid, CPR, and sports medicine.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees of the district.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to apply basic algebra skills such as calculation of figures, etc.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables sin standardized situation.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
